    LinuxMoving mailman lists from one server involved moving the configureation then the archive. I move the configurstion manualy through the web inteface but moving thchive is also fairly simple.

    LinuxA new patent holding company, Open Invention Network (OIN), has been founded with the sole aim of acquiring patents relating to Linux and offering them royalty free to Linux developers. OIN backers IBM, Novell, Red Hat, Philips and Sony said that the company would promote Linux and "spur innovation globally" (from http://www.theregister.co.uk).

    LinuxHopefuly this is a fairly full and accurate list of frequencies for use in the above. I found it when I was looking for the frequencies for Stockland Hill to test my nova-t card (using kaffeine). Find the directory with uk-CristalPalace in it, copy it to uk-StocklandHill and use the info below.

    LinuxIf you change your graphics card or put your hard disk in a PC with a different graphics card to get X working use 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg'. I used to do 'apt-get --purge remove xserver-xorg ; apt-get install ubuntu-desktop' but this is less drastic.

    I spend years avoiding compiling a kernel. A year after totaly switching to Linux I was forced to and found, to my suprise, it was fairly easy. A lot of this is taken from Desktop Linux Debian Kernel 2.6 How To and another usefull guide is Didgital Hermit Kernel Rebuild guide .
