    OracleHaving Excel launch after a report is run with the report in it is quite useful if the report was designed to be loaded by Excel. This obviously had to be a character mode report designed to be saved as a Comma Separated File (.csv). This article mainly deals will using Object Linking and Embedding (OLE2) to pass the report but also outlined issues involved in developing reports designed to be exported as .csv.

    OracleThe above 'striping' is usefull to help users 'scan' across the page, especialy when the report has a lot of white space. It is done by including the rownum and using mod to get every other row. Below is an example of the code.

    I spend years avoiding compiling a kernel. A year after totaly switching to Linux I was forced to and found, to my suprise, it was fairly easy. A lot of this is taken from Desktop Linux Debian Kernel 2.6 How To and another usefull guide is Didgital Hermit Kernel Rebuild guide .
